- Members must always carry their Club membership ID card while visiting Club waters. Anyone without a current ID card will be asked to
leave.
- Members must always be in possession of a valid water authority licence for the number of rods intended for use. This must be carried
with them on Club waters.
- Bailiffs, owners’ agents or member, all have the right to ask for production of membership cards. Members are asked to challenge, in
respectful terms, any unknown person on a Club water.
- Please inform the Secretary immediately of any misuse of Club fisheries.
- There is no night fishing for junior members (under the age of 16) unless accompanied by a responsible adult Club member (over the age
of 18). All juniors under the age of 12, either fishing or looking at Club waters, must be accompanied by a responsible adult (over the age of 18) with the exception of Club matches. Junior members
are not eligible for exchange tickets unless accompanied by a responsible adult.
- No fixed feeders or lead arrangements. Leads must be free running or semi fixed arrangements. Elasticated feeders can only be of a
design where the feeder can detach from the mainline in the even or line breakage. No leadcore, tubing or leaders to be over 1m in length.
- All fish must be returned to the water, and no fish are to be kept in a keepnet for more than 8 hours.
- No fish from any sources to be introduced into Club waters, except by official authority.
- When carp/ pike fishing, a landing net of no less that 42” is to be used. Purpose made unhooking mats must be used and carried at all
times.
- Unhooking mats must be used at all times when fishing for all species.
- Lines for pike and eel fishing must be a minimum of 15lb. A minimum of 18” wire trace to be used at all times for pike fishing and
forceps used for unhooking.
- No swim to be occupied for more than 72 hours, with the exception of Easter Bank Holiday where it becomes 84 hours. After this time you
must vacate for a minimum of 24 hours. No member can occupy more than one swim.
- Members must enter and leave by the authorised entrances only and respect the property they are on. Members are responsible for closing
and locking the gates behind themselves.
- Members are required to keep to all paths and not stray more than 10yards from the water’s edge.
- Dog, fires, lethal weapons, boats (except bait boats) alcohol and musical instruments are all strictly prohibited on Club
waters.
- Members shall be responsible for clearing ALL litter within a 5 yards radius of their swim when vacating a swim. Any member found
leaving litter may be instantly expelled from the Club.
- Members can use 3 rods at any one time, providing they have the correct licence to do so.
- Seasons as per water authority rules, all water authority rules to be strictly complied with.
- No private fishing at the venue of any competition, on the day of the match, the water shall be closed from midnight until after the
match.
- All members fish at their own risk
- The Club shall not be responsible for members trespassing on private property.
- Members writing to the Club, expecting a reply, shall enclose a stamped return envelope.
- Any correspondence to national or local press, television or radio shall be by the Club secretary sanction only. And social media post
showcasing Seaford Angling Club, must not mention S.A.C waters.
- Micro barbed hooks must be used on all club waters.
- No hooks larger than no.4 to be used when carp fishing.
- All renewals must be paid before 1st April each year. Members failing to renew by this date will have to pay the joining
fee.
- Fishing from numbered swims only.
- Members must not interfere with the flora and fauna.
- Not unattended rods at any time.
- No fly fishing at Old River or Snipe Pond.
- Toilets must be used where provided.
- When using keepnets, two nets must be used 9 one for silver fish one for carp). 50lb maximum net limit. No carp over 8lb to be put in a
keepnet. Minimum keepnet length of 3m.
- Members wishing to retain carp for photographic or Club record purposes must use a floating retainer. No carp to be retained for longer
than 4 hours.
- Bailiffs are authorised to check tackle, including terminal tackle already in the water, to see if it complies with Club
rules.
- Night fishing is permitted at the Old River, Wallers Haven and at Piddinghoe. For Piddinghoe there must be a minimum of two people
present for overnight, with no more than one vacant swim between them.
- The opening times for Leabridge vary over the year. 7am – 8pm BST & 8am – 4pm GMT
- All new members will serve a 24 month probation period, where their membership may be terminated without explanation.
Additional rules for Cornwall Reservoir;
- All net/ slings/ mats must be dipped for a minimum of 10 minutes in the dip tanks provided.
- Barbless hooks only.
- Carp/ fish care kit to be used on every capture.
- Maximum of 3 anglers fishing overnight – overnight sessions must be booked in advance with the Head Bailiff.
- Maximum of 10mph speed limit enforced around the fishery.
- Keepnets are only permitted to be used in authorised Club matches.
- No arriving or leaving the fishery between the hours of 8pm & 7am.
- Parking allocation for 7 vehicles only.
Gate must be shut and locked after you have entered –
regardless of how long you intend to stay.
